The Hunter's Mate by Morganna Williams

Hey hey everyone! Today's well overdue blog post isn't going to be about me, but instead, my super near and dear friend - Morganna Williams. You see, a few weeks back she released a very well put together erotic selection and it was a fascinating read. If you're at all familiar with her work, for her latest title, The Hunter's Mate, she returned to her roots with science fiction. To say that was a welcome flash to the past in an understatement; she slayed it with this one.

The main situation in this story is our lead character, Hale, coming to Earth to go after those who done pissed him off. Sidebar - he meets a girl. Not just any girl mind you, but a very spunky, hold-my-cup-of-coffee-while-I-beat-her-ass kinda of girl in Reyna. Together, the two of fireworks from the get-go. The chemistry Morganna took the time to craft in this one is outstanding. By the end, you're rooting for their happily ever after, everything else be damned.

Yes, there is sex, spankings, and a whole bunch of other misdemeanors that happen throughout the course of this book, but let me highlight the action. Morganna stepped up her game big time in The Hunter's Mate, delivering action packed scenes and suspense that may have even rivaled her scintillating scenes. All and all, this book kicked ass and took some names.

If you're a sci-fi fan, lover of sexy time stories, or just a deviant like myself, putting The Hunter's Mate into your Kindle library is a must.

Friday Freebie with Jack: Peace, Love, & Death #2

Peave, Love, and Death #2
I’d tried my best to keep out of Herman’s business since he dropped the bomb he as working for Balthazar the wizard. In fact, I’d been so strung out, that I didn’t even know what day of the week it was! Unfortunately, that all came crashing down when Herman stumbled into the apartment, bloody and with a set of donkey ears where his regular human one’s should’ve been.

I sat up and focused really hard, making sure I wasn’t high first. “Shit Herman, what the hell happened to you?”

“Well, you see…”

And he went into this long drawn out story about how he messed up a delivery he was supposed to make. The box he’d been assigned to drop off to an Imp apparently had been misplaced. By misplaced, he meant he lost it when he was trying to buy marijuana. Oh Herman…

As he finished the story, all I could do was sigh. “Do you even know what was in the box?” It took everything I had not to laugh at those stupid ears.

“No idea, Graham-ster. I just know when Balthazar found out, he gave me these unchill listening devices.”

Honestly, Balthazar could’ve done a lot worse. It also was kinda funny that Herman had no idea that this shit was weird and he probably shouldn’t be sharing it with anyone. Either Herman was high as a kite (probably) or just was so relaxed that he didn’t even consider this as an oddity (very likely).

I as in a position to help. Not get in too deep mind you, but I could at least help him get the box back and get rid of these ears. “Do you want me to help you go look for the box?” I asked.

High tried to give me a high five, but my hand wasn’t up. “Dude, Graham, that would be killer.” For a guy who had cursed ass ears, he wasn’t even the slightest bit upset.

I grabbed my coat and the two of us went down to where the drug deal took place. It was a dingy little bar called the Seventh Circle. I half expected the place to reek of Brimstone, but it turned out totally human. The surprises just kept on coming.

Inside, we strolled up to the bar. The guy slinging shots looked at me a bit funny. “Whaddaya want?”

Herman had told me the key phrase to ask when I got to this point. I felt like a fool for having to say it, though. “The mouse needs some cheese.”

The bartender winked and pointed off to the side where there was a small black door. “Just knock twice and be patient,” was his only words of wisdom.

So I did. And patient I was. What seemed like an eternity, the door opened and a hand grabbed me. Being dragged into the dark, I was totally taken aback when I could see what was going on. “Death, what the hell are you doing here?”

I knew that voice! “Azrael? Is that really you?”

The light shined down and the salty old angel was standing over me. “Shit, you being here complicates things.”

Considering I didn’t know what things were, I wasn’t sure what to say. “Listen, I’m just trying to find a box for a friend?”

“Herman?”

“Yeah – wait, how did you know?”

Azrael pulled out a box from the shelf behind him. “This is the box that stoner was carrying. Death, it contains a map showing the location of all four seals.”

“When you say seals, you mean –”

“Yep, the seals that would start the End of Days.”

Damnit all, I wasn’t high enough to deal with another Armageddon…

Monday Musings

So a friend of mine told me that I need to blog more. I've been doing my best to show up here a few times a week. I think I'm going to do a blog on Mondays going over some weekend thoughts. It was a busy weekend with a lot happening.

Thought 1:

My new book, The Electric Mile, has been published by Baronet Press. For $3.99, you can get an action packed, adult content adventure that is reminiscent of the classic movie Tron. Here is a quick recap of the story:

Ash Wilde (also known by his gamer handle of Vector) doesn’t have the greatest of lives. Besides being a homeless high school dropout, he doesn’t even have enough money to buy a burrito. Don’t worry though, things will get better for him. You see, as one of the world’s greatest gamers, he’s about to get up close and personal with the world of The Electric Mile, the rage of players everywhere. What’s so great about this game? No one’s beaten it, yet.

Once he gets pulled into the game’s master file, he’s living inside the game in real time. Ash soon discovers there’s a lot more to The Electric Mile than anyone realizes. With the assistance of some busty beauties, Ash decides to help everyone by beating the game from the inside. What follows is a crazy, action packed, naughty adventure that answers one very important question: Can anyone survive The Electric Mile?

If that sounds good to you, here is the link - https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Mile-Neon-Underground-ebook/dp/B073JTQHL1/

Thought 2:

I watched the Manny Paq fight on Saturday night. Man, boxing is full of crap. I'm not professional judge, but when I see one guy who got his ass kicked around the ring by another guy, it's pretty easy to see who the winner is. Sorry Jeff Horn, you may have come to fight but you got ass kicked. You did not win that fight and you should probably stop trying to act like you did.

Thought 3:

With bacon on my mind, as it usually is, I went to my local butcher and found a few slices of perfection. I just wanted to publically shout out to my butcher, Frank Mahoney, for cutting the perfect strips. They went so well with my burgers and beer. I have to work this week, so I celebrated the 4th on Sunday. I hope where ever you are, you have a great and safe holiday.

Until next time guys.

Friday Freebie with Jack #1 - Enter the Crusades!

Welcome friends to the brand new segment I was rambling about earlier in the week. We kick off the series getting in the way-back machine and heading to the Crusades. Death (not Derrick this time around) has his hands full with his brother, War. Let the shenanigans ensue!

Enter the Crusades #1

The Crusades – humans creating conflict for the sake of killing each other. Why War and I were called to duty over any more than capable angel was beyond me, but alas, here we were. Nothing made me more irritated than being called away from my all day and night party life than to be paired up with War. The guy could suck the fun out of a Bacchus inspired orgy if given the chance. And he would never be given the chance.
And you’d think that’d be the worst of it! Nope, just a few weeks earlier we ran afoul of a being called Vlad he Impaler. A demon-infused vampyre, War and I barely escaped that mess. But that’s a story for another time. Nope, we were in the midst of a battle against the Turks. This was more of a human problem than a divine problem, but Michael asked us to continue all for one reason: to gain the Spear of Longinus.
The spear was one of the holiest of relics out there. War and I originally got involved in the Crusades due to the pushback against the church. Demons were influencing the other side and the power of the horsemen was needed to draw them out and slay the unholy creatures. But, with the discovery of the spear, this became priority number one.
Night had fallen and while trying to sneak away, the battle found us. So here we were, engaged with numerous Turks alongside the Christian warriors. “This is great fun,” War shouted in Latin.
“You’re idea of fun is so foolishly skewed!”
On top of my best friend and horse, Khloros, the two of us followed War and his steed, Pyrrha. With his great sword, War sliced down two charging Turks with the greatest of ease. This left me little to do, which was okay. I felt ridiculous in the Crusader get-up and bringing out Leviathan, my scythe, would look a bit suspicious.
War continued to wade towards the battle and not the mausoleum where we were needed. “War,” I scolded. “Enough of the battle; we need to go to the spear.”
“Death, you are no fun,” he countered. I was a ton of fun, just not in battle situations. “Just allow me the pleasure. Go get the spear yourself.”
If he was going to be a flaming dick, fine. “Do whatever you want. I have a task to accomplish.” With that, I turned Khloros and we sped off towards the mausoleum.
“Death, was it best to leave our back-up behind?” Khloros asked.
It wasn’t like I was given much of a choice. “War will grow tired and rejoin us.” Even as I said it, I wasn’t all the confidient with the prediction. “We must remember who he is.”
Khloros accepted the answer as we continued. With the wind out our backs, we made excellent time getting to our location. The grand stone mausoleum stuck out like a sore thumb. I hopped off Khloros and checked out the entrance door. The thick stone sealed in whatever secrets the mausoleum was intent on hiding. Fortunately I had the key.
My celestial fire blazed into action and with two well-placed strikes of the ghostly grey chains that formed, the entranceway was clear. And the awful smell of demonic brimstone rushed out, filling my nose with the ill-fated warning.
Looking back at Khloros, “It seems we’re not to be alone.”

------

Well that was fun! Be sure to check out my friend and fellow author, Morganna Williams, blog for her free Friday story: www.morgannawilliams.com

See ya next week!

Wip it Up Wednesday - The Electric Mile!

An Excerpt from the upcoming release, The Electric Mile

There was a lot of talking between the two girls. Ira had thought Ali was kidding with her plot to bring a user over from the real world to fight against Zeus Industries. Now that I was here, she was halfway to freak out town. “I know you talked about doing it, but seeing how he’s here… Oh my God, what if they find out?”

Draxler was after me, not Vector.” How she knew that, I wouldn’t know. “He’s a secret for now and he’s already finding his way. In no time, we’ll be able to finally bring down Zeus Industries and live in this world in peace.”

She crossed her arms over her huge boobs. “You were always so reckless, Ali.” She then smiled. “I wish I had your wild streak.”
Ali got up and walked over to the door. “I’m going to talk to Norad. Can you keep Vector safe for me until I get back?”
Her face darkened, “Norad? That’s a lost cause right there.”
Ali grimaced at Ira’s opinion and shrugged her shoulders. “I have to try.” Her last glance was saved for me. “Stay with Ira and follow her lead. You’re safe here, so long as one of us is with you for the time being.”
I gave her a quick head shake and she left as quickly as we came in. No sooner did Ali leave than I was being swept up by Ira. “You must tell me everything about yourself! A real player, in the master file with us? How exciting!”
My life wasn’t nearly as exciting as what was currently going on, but I did my best to fill her in. I told her about the garage I lived in and even that my real name wasn’t Vector, that it was Ash Wilde. When she heard that she squealed with joy. “Does Ali even know you’re outside name?”
I’m sure she did if we’d been connected as she told me. “If she does, she doesn’t use it. She only refers to me by my gamer handle of Vector.”
Then allow me to use it, Ash.” There was something very seductive about her smile. “It’s been a long time since I talked to someone as interesting as you.”
Ira got even closer to me, her massive chest pressed up against me. It was very hot and erotic. “Well, you seem like a very cool girl.”
In one swift motion, she pulled her shirt over her head. In a flash, her hand undid the bra that held those mammoth globes in place and they flopped down, landing on my shoulder and arm. For the second time since coming to this world, I was in a spot where my mind wasn’t thinking clearly. And in a good way. I bit down on that big nipple that was lying there, waiting to be taken.
She let out a soft moan and I did the same to the other. Soon I was working both of them, rapid back and forth motions trying to keep pace. Her hand reached down and felt my hard-on through my jeans. She unzipped them and pulled it out of the boxers holding it. She began to stroke it so fast that in no time, I was cumming all over her skirt.
Before I could apologize, she did something so hot that I was back in the game. She wiped it up with her finger and plunged that digit into her pussy. The moan that escaped her lips was the perfect amount of pleasure and tease. Her hand hadn’t let go of me, so it began to fill her fingers once again as my cock hardened back up.
That was a very naughty boy. Don’t waste this precious stuff on my skirt when you can put it in here.” She guided my hard love member into her already wet folds. I slid right in like I’d been meant to fit in there.
Half standing and half leaning, Ira was in total control from this angle. Her heels made this the perfect height for our little romp and she was having the time of her life. With each thrust downward, her eyes got a little bigger, rewarding me for getting hard quickly again. I looked down and saw a nice tuft of blonde hair around the lips. I loved girls with some hair.
I felt a twitch in my leg. It was coming on fast. “I hate… to ask… but is it safe… to cum inside?”
I don’t knoooow,” she half moaned in my ear. “Do it anyways.”
Her throaty voice made the choice an easy one. If there were to be consequences, damn them. I arched my back a bit and felt the rising tide about to erupt from my erection. As soon as it did, her vaginal walls began milking my cock for all it was worth. Cumming inside of her felt so good, like this was a vagina meant for me.
The moment we both finished, I slumped over, tired from all the exertion of the day. I was still inside her as she ran her hand over my eyes and whispered, “Sleep well, Ash. We still have a lot of time left to play.”

****

I woke up to the feeling of a hand gently stroking my cock. When I opened my eyes, I saw Ira sitting beside me, massaging the full length of the shaft. “Wakey, wakey sleepy head.”
How long was I asleep?”
Not too long, maybe an hour? Ali came to check on you and was pleased that you were resting. She wanted me to tell you to keep that up and she’d be back in a bit to take you exploring.”
I was excited to see Ali again, yet I wasn’t disappointed to be left alone with Ira for a bit longer. There was just something so amazing about the girl. “I guess I’m in your capable hands until she gets back.”
The soft palms of her hands continued their task at keeping me turned on. I hadn’t really noticed what color her eyes were until now, as the deep hazel color was locked in on me. “I hope you don’t mind, but I really need some more of what you’re giving.”
What guy would mind an insanely hot chick wanting him to fuck her brains out again? Especially an insanely hot chick who probably had a submissive side. Oh yes, I could tell.
I pulled Ira down gently, allowing her skirt to ride up and expose that precious ass of hers. Unlike Ali’s, which was firm and toned from being a warrior, Ira’s was soft, plush. I liked it much, much more. I started slowly with a gentle tap, just hard enough to gain her attention.
Ash!” she exclaimed breathlessly. “Did you just spank me?”
Yes I did.” I spanked her just a bit harder. “Is that going to be a problem?”
No sir!” she answered with the right amount of husk in her voice. The way her voice squeaked was so hot. “I just wanted to make sure I was pleasing you.”
Oh she was, for sure. I loved to hear the crack of that ass under my palm. I gave her two more, which produced even sexier, kitten-like squeals. Ira was mine and we’d barely just begun.
Unlike Ali’s ass, which went red right away, Ira’s held up under the tingling swats I gave her. This one was going to be a challenge and I loved a good challenge. With a few more well-placed moves, that luscious white skin began to turn pink.
Another difference was the way her ass had some jiggle to it. I was mesmerized with the movement each time my hand came across. It was making my very hard member even that much more turned on. I took a mental picture of this perfection.
I couldn’t help myself, I continued to spank her. She cooed with acceptance. “My life has been programmed to be a servant and I am yours.”
Not a servant, a partner,” I corrected her.
The way we were laying, she continued to hold on to me as I reddened those cheeks up. When I thought she was sufficiently under my spell I said, “That beautiful mouth of yours would do such a fine job on my cock.”
She didn’t even need to say anything. Her red lips found their way to the hardened member and went to work immediately. Every so often she’d look up at me with her pretty eyes, almost as if she needed my assurances. She received them.
I wasn’t going to finish in her mouth. Oh no. She deserved much better than that. I took my hands and guided her face off my cock. “I think we both know where this needs to go.”
If that pleases you, it most certainly pleases me.”
Not knowing how much longer I could’ve lasted under those skillful lips, I slid into her awaiting hole, eager to accept me once again. Unlike Ira, who was determined to wait for me, her inner needs weren’t so passive. The muscles of her sweetness began contracting around my shaft, working it over and over, wanting nothing more than for me to finish inside her. Who was I to say no?
The time came to unload another round of liquid passion deep inside her digital womb. Her eyes practically begged me to finish the job and without hesitation, I did. Over and over again, squirting with each thrust into her. It was pure magic.

Incoming: Friday Freebies

As some of you may know, I have two writing mentors. Morganna Williams, who has helped me in so many ways, does a free Friday short story each week. After a good conversation with her, and some emails asking for more info about Derrick's and Roxanne's past, I think I'm going to start up that segment, too.

We're going to kick it off this week by going back into Death's past, well before he was even Derrick Grimm (or Graham Reeper for that matter). These shorts will be little mini series, so it won't be an adventure per week, but rather over three or four weeks. I hope you enjoy the new segment, as this will also make me blog a lot more often.

Keep it real team,

The New Grimm's Reapers!

A guy is gone for a month or so on business field trips and comes home to find his inbox full of angry messages about where the Grimm's Reapers series has gone. Here are a few examples:

Jack -
I purchased Death Among Us and Old War Stories. Where the hell are the rest of the books? Seriously not cool.

Mr. Crosby -
Just logged into Amazon to get Divide and Conquest and was told its unavailable. Is this an error? Can you please let me know when I can get the last book?

Grrrr,
I'm so mad that you pulled your books. NOT HAPPY!

As you can see, I'm not exactly Mr. Popularity right now amongst my good people. As I explained before, the reason for the pull was to improve quality. Just as many readers sent me email after reading one or two books stating how poorly edited they were. I was young, naïve, and thought I could handle shit on my own. I learned from those mistakes and wanted to put out a better quality product.

I'm happy to report today that by Halloween this year, all four books will be back out under new titles and 150% better. With the help of Jeremy Croston over at Bolt Publishing, the two of us were able to take my hot messes and make them shine. In April, Death Among Us was re-released as Demons in D.C. Here's the cover if you haven't seen it yet:

The second book of the series, Old War Stories, is just about done its makeover. Renamed In the Nyx of Time, it is up for preorder on Amazon with a release date on June 6th. If at any point you dropped the series due to the errors, I'd like to extend you a welcome back. The under construction signs are being torn down and The Chronicles of Death are sure to delight all you heathens.

Before I go today, here's the new cover for In the Nyx of Time. I love it.

PS - If you're still here, look for the Feast or Famine remake in August. Rumor has it that its new title will be Abaddon Rising...

The Crazy Guy's Guide to Bacon

I wrote a cookbook. A satirical, poetic, jumble of a hot mess cookbook, but one nonetheless. And I have a feeling if you're reading this post, you'll want to buy it, too. Why?

  • It's 99 cents (in most regions)
  • It contains a lot of bacon infused recipes
  • It has terrible jokes
  • There's poetry!
  • It's only like 30 pages long, so it won't take long to read
  • I challenge your man/woman-hood about 3 pages in
  • And did I mention bacon?
Yep, that's about all there is to it. Oh yeah, and we lose Gary about halfway through the book. What other cookbook offers death in it? None that I know of - though, 100% honesty here, this is the only cookbook I've ever read. How narcissistic of me.

Did I miss anything? Oh the link! Here you go: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y6BGGTQ/

Go grab a cold beer, oh glorious reader, and enjoy The Crazy Guy's Guide to Bacon. Your cholesterol will thank you.

Last Chances to get the Grimm's Reapers Series

It's really happening, people. The good folks at Dark Moon Press have all four Grimm's Reapers books, as well as The Witch Wars: Volume 1. Over the past week, we've been working together on the source material and direction of the series and with it, how to handle this. With a lot of help from my author friend, Jeremy Croston, the newest form of the book is everything I could've ever hoped it to be.

With my blessing and with the understanding that things need to change, I'm here today to let everyone know that in one week, all my books will be coming off of Amazon. After that, the transition will begin with brand new covers and titles as we re-launch an updated and cleaner series. Next week, my contract with them starts, so this will be the final run as an independent.

Obviously, this pushes The Witch Wars Volume 2 back, but as someone who is taking their writing with a less blasé faire attitude, I want to make sure the products being put out with my name on it are top notch. I appreciate everyone's understanding in this. And for those of you who may have given up after reading a book or two, I feel like you might want to give the series a chance again. The story is as strong as ever and hopefully the rest of the logistics (editing and cleaner dialogue) match up with it.

Reflections

Sometimes getting the truth is the hardest conversation to have with someone. No one wants to hurt feelings or upset anyone, so they sugarcoat things. It's only by pressing that you get the truth, and once you have it, the realizations that come along with it.

I finally got the truth yesterday and it's time to deal with it.

When I started my writing journey a few years back, it was for fun. I had stories to tell and never really thought any more of it. As I kept going, it went from hobby to something that I started to take more seriously. Then, as more books sold, it became a passion. It wasn't overnight, but I remember one day thinking, "This is something I could totally see doing one day on a more full-time basis."

As a computer guy, I have spreadsheets and limitless pieces of data lying all over the place. One of those spreadsheets shows how my books do, obviously. The other day, it dawned on me that the series retention rate from Death Among Us through the current book, Jacoby's Revenge, ended up being only about 25%. That surprised me. So I sought out some opinions from those closest to me.

No one wanted to offend me. I kept pressing, until one brave soul told me the truth - there are numerous errors and some plot point inconsistencies. Finally, someone told me what I needed to hear. So, with that, what to do? A few authors said just to have it edited and just update the version on Amazon. However, one author gave me another idea, one I liked even more. Pull the books completely, revamp them, and release them under new names and cover art. "Let's give your books a brand new identity."

And that's what I am going to do. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to start pulling stuff down. Death Among Us is already in some very capable hands, getting revisions and corrections handled as we speak. I'll keep everyone posted as this new beginning really takes place, but in the meantime, feel free to email me any questions you might have. I'm always around.

Roxanne Short Story - Red With Lust

Greetings my fellow humanoids. I hope you had a great Christmas and have some cool plans for New Years. Me, I'm going to chillax in Chicago as I am off for the rest of the year!! No need to tell me it is only 4 days, I will take my vacation and run.

So, my tag team project with Morganna Williams has been very well received. The Primal Heat/Merciless: A Pirate's Tale combo platter is up on Amazon and neither of us realized just how popular it would be. Well, when something is good, you keep running with it. Morganna asked me if I had another Grimm's Reapers tale to tell and, naturally, I did. So with her next novella that'll be released right at the kick off to 2017, Roxanne is coming back for more.

In the short story, Red With Lust, our favorite demon has been tasked with assassinating JFK. What happens next is a tale that sends us from the east coast to the heart of Texas as we follow her adventure. By the conclusion, you'll know a lot more about her and how she came to be in Derrick Grimm's (aka Death) life.

Real quick, The Witch Wars Volume 2 is coming along nicely - should be an early 2017 release there. Plus, my other new(ish) book, The Electric Mile is free this week. You should grab it at www.amazon.com/author/jackcrosby. Video games, hot ladies, and a wacky plot that makes little sense? What's not to love?! And finally, me and some dude named CG Blade are up to no good with the Grimm's Reapers series. I am super stoked to continue to work with that mad genius. Just don't tell him I complemented him, okay? Good.

That's all I got party people. Have a safe and great New Years and I will see you in 2017.

Working with Morganna Williams

As I get back into the swing of things, I had a tempting offer happen this week. Good friend of Crosby Entertainment, Morganna Williams approached me to put two of our short stories together and give readers a chance to get to know us. A lot of you are familiar with my short - Merciless: A Pirate's Tale, which is the story that I offered her.

Well, Morganna, her work is unique. She writes in the sub-genre called spanko-erotica. Her books are fun, action packed, and highly good time reads. I wanted to fit in a bit with that, so I upgraded Merciless just for this opportunity. Adding in the same elements she uses, Merciless: The Bad Girls Edition is now out as a bonus story in her book, Primal Heat. You can pick it up over at Amazon, of course!

Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MZ047ST/

Before we go today, I figured it'd be best to give a little sample of the novel, a bit from each story. Please enjoy!

-Jack

Merciless: The Bad Girls Edition
Cooing in my ear, “Oh captain! What a magnificent sword you have! Slay me like the evil vixen I am…”
Bless her, the dirty talk in my ear softly made the situation that much more unbearable. She locked her ankles around my back to keep me from going far as I grinded myself deep inside her. Roxanne loved it the dirty little girl. Something in her eyes though drove me to do something even more. I pulled out and turned her over on my desk. “Bad girls get a jolly old lashing.” I took my hand across her ass, hard.
Quicker than I could’ve imagined, she had me on my back and her eyes were like embers. “I will pardon you once, Captain, but do that again and I will disembowel you on the spot.”
“Yes ma’am.”
Primal Heat

“All right little girl, it’s time for some answers,” a grumbling voice above her said sternly. Kyra squinted trying to adjust her eyes to the sudden bright light. He came into focus about the same time his scent hit her, wrapping around her comfortingly.

Shit! It was her mate…hell no…she was getting out of dodge immediately. Kyra had no plans to mate at all in her future.

She sprang from the trunk with a lithe grace the unknown shifter wasn’t expecting and spun to face him with a glare. Her hair was coming loose from its moorings and hanging rather haphazardly around her face and her glasses were at an odd angle, but she raised her hands in front of her ready to knock him for a six if he came at her.

“You can’t just go around kidnapping people!” she yelled.

“Don’t give me that line sweetheart. You paid me 4k to kidnap you and give you a fantasy weekend,” he told her with a little growl.

Kyra refused to let the big ox intimidate her, “That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard; you’re clearly delusional. I insist you let me go this instant or face criminal charges.”

“Stupid? Delusional? You better stop while you’re ahead little girl. I like a little role play on occasion but you aren’t going to get away pretending this whole scheme wasn’t your idea to begin with,” he told her firmly as he stalked towards her. “Now, would you care to explain to me why any of this was…oomph”

She stopped his words by rushing him and ramming her tied hands up into his chin while kicking him hard in the groin simultaneously. Unfortunately, she hadn’t checked her momentum and ended up knocking him on his ass with her sitting on top of him.

The Return of Jack

Hey hey hey, long time no bloggin'. I apologize as I had a number of things going on, but you were in the quite capable hands of my newest associate, Sabrina. As you probably know by now, she's taken over the day to day running of my small book empire, affectionately known as Crosby Entertainment. Her experience in running a business plus her enthusiasm for helping me are two great qualities and I couldn't be happier.

The advent of Crosby Entertainment isn't the only cool thing happening. Since we last spoke, Pseudosynth Press has picked up my rag, The Electric Mile. Yep, another publisher actually wanted to be associated with my stuff. First and foremost, I want to thank CG and Jackie for bringing me into their family and helping me to achieve even greater milestones. What they've done for my book can't be underscored; they are the real deals.

Second, I want to encourage everyone to check out their entire library of awesomeness. If you pop over to www.pseudosnyth.com, you'll not only find me but a cadre of very talented people. Trust me, you'll be in for a rocking good time.

So yeah, a lot happened while I was away on one of my trips. New and improved copies of my books are on Amazon and are going to be out on paperback real soon. CG, Jackie, and Sabrina have done so much for me and I hope in 2017, you, the readers, reap the benefits.

The Witch Wars: Free this week

Yep, after the success my publishers over at Two Dudes, Brews, & Books had with a few giveaways last week, they asked me to do one this week (Jeff Trelewicz also has a book for free - read about it at his blog).  I was like hmmm maybe, and then over the weekend I got to thinkin' and drinkin'.  You guys have been very good to me, so why the hell not?

So, starting on Tuesday, August 2nd and running through Saturday, August 5th, The Witch Wars: Volume 1 - Jacoby's Revenge will be yours to grab for the low, low price of nothing.  You can't beat that with a stick can you?

(Get The Witch Wars Here)

Also, 2 quick updates:

1. I currently have 12 people entered to become a character in the next Witch Wars book.  You still have plenty of time to get in on that action.  Just email me at jack.crosby25@gmail.com and let me know why you'd be a great character,

2. So I listened to some of the complaints that The Witch Wars wasn't available in paperback where the rest of my books are.  Later this week, the paperback version should be live on Amazon for $5.99.  I submitted the files over this morning and everything should be good to go rather quickly.

Want to see the full paperback cover?  The guys over at 67 Studios Production nailed this one for me.

Free Books

Morning everyone.  Have you entered your name into the "Become a Character" contest yet?  We've still got plenty of time and there's already sixteen entrants.  Get your name and reason in ASAP.

So, the title of the blog gives this away - there are free books to be had.  Being the company man that I am, and owing a lot to Jeff and Jeremy, I feel the need to hawk their wears today.  Plus, one of them includes a short story written by me, so it's not all totally shilling out.

Twisted and Sinful Stories - The Anthology (This one has my story in it)

https://www.amazon.com/Twisted-Sinful-Stories-Morganna-Williams-ebook/dp/B01FWZYU26/

Jimmy Blades: The Puck Stops Here

https://www.amazon.com/Puck-Stops-Here-Blades-Season-ebook/dp/B01CDIUJGQ/

The Curse of Oberon (The Inglewood Chronicles Book 3)

https://www.amazon.com/Curse-Oberon-Inglewood-Chronicles-Book-ebook/dp/B01BRG9GCI/

There you have it.  3 books for free, so go and grab them.  At the very least it'll help the download numbers, and that'll make us all happy.

The Return of Roxanne

Greetings my friends and a happy Friday to you.  The weekend is close at hand and I know I'm looking forward to it.  You want to know what else I'm looking forward to?  The Epic Return of Roxanne!  Next Friday, May 20th, the tale Merciless: A Grimm's Reaper Short will be part of an anthology called Twisted and Sinful Stories.  In fact, my story will be the very first one, kicking off this awesome assortment of mischief.

I know what you guys need - a free sample.  Well, ask and you shall receive:

My second ale had been poured when another entered the establishment.  It was a lady, but she wasn’t dressed like a proper wench at all.  She wore an open tan shirt with leather pants and proper pirate boots.  Attached to her belt was a long thing sword, a rapier I believe they’re called.  She took off her hat and put up one finger.  Without a word, she sat down next to me.

Red hair cascaded down her pale face.  There was something of amusement in her eyes as she kept gaining my attention.  After her first sip of ale, “Argus Fletcher, I’ve been watching you.”

I tipped my cup towards her and drank as well.  “Well met my lady.  And who do I have the pleasure of sharing a beer with?”

Her laugh was angelic, not fitting her figure at all.  “Honestly, I doubt you’d believe me.  For the meantime, please just call me Roxanne.”

Roxanne, a name fitting an angel or a devil.  “A pleasure to meet you miss Roxanne.”  I saw she was empty as was I.  Finnegan remedied the situation for us.  “I’ve not seen you on the island before; did the bad weather bring you this way?”

The first sounds of the hurricane echoed across the harbor, the wind starting to pick up.  I looked worried as did the barkeep, but Roxanne drank as if nothing was out of place.  “I’m here because of the weather, yes, just not in the way you think.”

“I’m intrigued and that doesn’t happen often enough.”  I leaned in closer.  “Care to share your twisted words?”

She waved her hand and everything around us froze in time.  Finnegan was in mid-pour, the beer hanging in the air unnaturally.  “There are certain truths you’ll have to understand.  For one, I’m not human as you just put together.”

“Bloody hell…”
That's just a snippet of the fun you can expect.  But wait, that's not all!  When you grab this Twisted and Sinful Stories Anthology, you will get the first look at Oz's story.  Chapter 1 of The Witch Wars: Jacoby's Revenge will be inside too.
Like I said, look for the anthology next Friday on Amazon and to keep things on the up and up, it'll only be listed at 99 cents.  Along with my stuff, Jeremy Croston, Jeff Trelewicz, and Morganna Williams will have their own works in there.  Hell, maybe you'll find another author that you'll enjoy.  Anyways, that's it for today.  I'll be back next week at some point.  Until then, keep it real.

Future of the Grimm's Reapers series

My popular One Star Theatre will be back next week as I'm in Seattle on assignment.  This week I wanted to talk about the future books coming for the Grimm's Reapers characters.  If you haven't finished the series yet, you should probably do so before continuing on.

So I'm sure you'll all be glad to hear that I am going to do a short story based on Roxanne's history.  It's going to be part of an anthology I'm writing with fellow authors Jeremy Croston, Jeff Trelewicz, and Morganna Williams.  The whole premise will once again throw real history under the bus as she cusses and sleeps her way to the end.

A second anthology will be coming out sometime this summer, but it'll be all my own stories.  There will be four of them to be exact, introducing us to the main characters to the new series starring Oz Grimm, The Witch Wars.  I'm not going to give away much here, except the names of the characters:

The Human - Caspian Zane
The Witch - Cassandra Zane
The Angel - Jessie Torres
The Demon - Oz Grimm

Each one will have their own little 10-12K story that gives the background on them.  Stay tuned for that, like I said this summer.  Well, I need to get cleaned up and go make some bacon.  See you all next week when the Review Samurai finds another troll that needs beheaded,

Feast or Famine Q & A

Dudes and dudettes, you sent me a lot of questions this time around.  I ended up sorting through what I had on Monday night for my top 5 and answering them last night so I could get them up today.  Real quick, there are a lot of spoilers coming, so if you haven't finished this book in the series, I would recommend coming back when you did.  Now on to your questions.

Q1 - Sabrina is one powerful and evil girl.  How do you see her playing out in the last book?

A1 - I don't want to give a lot away, but she maintains her hatred for her mother all the way through.  That hate, because of Roxanne's betrayal to Beelzebub defines her really.  The fun thing is when you see how she treats Jacoby, it'll go a long way in defining her character.

Q2 - This was by far your best writing effort to date.  As an author, what do you do to keep improving your writing?

A2 - With Death Among Us, I tried to do everything myself.  It was my first effort and I didn't want anyone to help me because I didn't want to lose the integrity of the story.  I learned that's not a good thing.  In Old War Stories, I had Jeff and Jeremy help me a lot plus I got a few Beta readers.  Getting Sarah, my English teacher turned editor friend on board was a big boon too.  Then with Feast or Famine, I took everything I learned from my first two attempts and really fine tuned them.  I'm sure there are still issues here and there, but I hope it reads smoothly.

Q3 - You dirty son of a gun, you brought Roxanne back into the fold.  Was that because of peer pressure or was that always the plan?

A3 - Roxanne is my favorite character bar none.  The journey she goes on from the start of the series to the finish is one that has a lot of bumps in it.  I wanted her character to be the one that experienced the most growth, yet also got the most emotional connection from readers.  I know her "death" in Old War Stories pissed a lot of people off, but that's good.  I did my job as a writer by creating a character people love.

Q4 - Will we see more Lucifer?  The scenes with Derrick dealing with him were awesome.

A4 - Minor spoiler here - his role in the story is just about finished.  He does come back in Divide and Conquest briefly, but it's not a huge role.  As you'll see, he's going to have a lot of other problems going on.

Q5 - I'm going to ask it but I don't expect an answer.  Oz and Jacoby, there going to be the focus moving forward right?

A5 - A lot of people wanted to know about the step brothers and their roles.  As you know, Oz is with Derrick and Roxanne while Jacoby grew up with Sabrina.  Their different upbringings will play a huge focus in their individual stories, but as the end of the day, Grimm's Reapers is about Derrick Grimm.  That said, what the future holds after this series, well that can be up for debate.

Thanks for everyone and their curiosity.  Divide and conquest is out now, so feel free to grab the last book in the series and see what the future is going to hold.

Divide and Conquest Update

The finish line is so close that I can taste it.  My editor friend Sarah and I are working out as many bugs as we can find to deliver (hopefully) top notch entertainment to you the readers.  We've added some stuff, axed other parts, and updated grammar and all.  Now Sarah wants me to tell you that's she not a professional editor (in fact, she's a high school English teacher), but by God she's going to catch as many of my goof-ups as possible.

Over the weekend, I was bombarded with emails asking for a release date.  One guy was polite - 'C'mon Jack, give us the low down! We've been waiting a few months to see how this all ends!'  One wasn't so polite - 'Damnit, you're dragging your feet getting the last book done.'  I certainly appreciate the enthusiasm you guys have, so it's at this time I feel confident giving a release date.  Based on finishing up a few things, getting the book formatted and all, Divide and Conquest will be to the Amazon Bookstore on 2-16-16.  As always it'll be available for both purchase and Kindle Unlimited borrowing.

In the lead up, I'm going to release chapter 2 this week, probably Wednesday or Thursday, and I'll also be doing a few special Q and A sessions.  If you want to get in on that (one topic will be the Feast or Famine one and the other will be The Life of Derrick), send questions to jack.crosby25@gmail.com.

Well my other job calls, so that's it for now.  Tune back later this week for chapter 2 and send me those questions.
